The purpose of the Community Planning Table for Children and Youth City of Kawartha Lakes is to provide advice, consultation and planning expertise in the development, implementation and monitoring of child and youth services and programs in the City of Kawartha Lakes.

The City of Kawartha Lakes Community Planning Table for Children and Youth will work collaboratively and strive to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of each service delivery component. The community as a whole will be committed to delivering responsive and accessible services to the children and families in the City of Kawartha Lakes. Children and youth will meet their maximum potential supported by a community that works together to realize their capacity and quality.

• To build an integrated continuum of child and youth services.
• To work together to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of programs across the continuum of services.
• To increase partnerships among child and youth service providers.
• To deliver responsive and accessible services to children and youth and their families in City of Kawartha Lakes.
• To advocate effectively on behalf of the children and families in the City of Kawartha Lakes.

• To communicate county-based issues and priorities with implications for the Quadrant and/or the Region to the Four Counties System Management Committee.
• To engage in operational planning to identify areas of need and gaps in service.
• To establish shared goals, priorities and understanding around the need for service restructuring.
• To participate in the development, use and application of relevant data, and evidence-based interventions in operational planning.
• To provide ongoing monitoring of the impact on services and programs for the purpose of quality system improvement.
• To provide fiscal oversight and identify opportunities for the reallocation of funds as it relates to children and youth services.
• To share knowledge about service contracts, protocols and letters of agreement where appropriate.
• To respond to urgent service demands/issues which may require immediate action/response.
• To work collaboratively with adult sector (IRT) for the establishment of policies/protocols for the purpose of planning for Transitional Aged Youth.
